Emergency personnel are responding to a traffic collision involving a semi-truck on Hwy 101 near mile marker 93 north of Leggett, close to Jitney Gulch, this afternoon. The incident, which occurred on the northbound side, has led to significant traffic delays.
According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, the accident was reported at approximately 2:20 PM. The semi-truck rolled over, blocking the northbound lanes and causing the southbound traffic to move very slowly. Caltrans QuickMap shows traffic backing up in both directions.
Initial reports indicated a possible brush fire started beside the semi, but emergency personnel report they put out a 5′ by 5′ spot.
Scanner communications revealed that the truck’s occupant had gotten out of the vehicle. CHP units are on the scene now and Caltrans was dispatched to assist with traffic management.
Northbound lanes are blocked as efforts are underway to clear the semi-truck and any debris. Travelers should expect delays.
Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.
