A fire has erupted in Lakeport, situated at the west end of Clear Lake. The blaze began around 3 p.m., starting with a structure fire that quickly spread to the surrounding vegetation. Currently, at least one tree on 2nd Street is engulfed in flames. As of 3:15 p.m., a second structure is on fire. As of 3:18 p.m., an “additional house is on fire,” according to dispatch speaking over the scanner to the Incident Commander.
The Incident Commander is calling for air support and more engines.
Multiple streets around the fire are under evacuation orders. Power lines are down. The area from 2nd Street up to Crawford has been evacuated, with authorities urging residents to leave immediately. The fire threatens multiple structures, and evacuation orders are expanding to include more residences. We’ll try to get you that information as soon as possible.
Firefighters are on the scene, battling to contain the fire and prevent further spread. But the crews sound stressed.

There is a residence and vegetation fire in the area of 1st and Tunis Sts. First responder presence in the area of martin to 2nd Sts, Russell to Estep. Vehicle and foot traffic should avoid this area. More info to follow.
UPDATE 3:36 p.m.: Air support is on their way. Three planes are headed east to the fire.
UPDATE 3:41 p.m.: Forward progress was reported over the scanner as having been stopped.
UPDATE 3:50 p.m.: The Incident Commander says that the first residence was heavily damaged. A second residence has exterior damage. And an outbuilding was heavily damaged.
UPDATE 4 p.m.: Good news! Air resources have been released and mop up has commenced.
