St. Mary of the Angels Catholic School students brought joy and the holiday spirit to the residents of Brookside Retirement Residence recently. The 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade classes took a short walk to the residence, where they sang Christmas carols and handed out handmade Christmas cards to the residents.

The visit was part of St. Mary’s commitment to community outreach and fostering compassion and service in its students. The children’s cheerful voices filled the room of Brookside with holiday melodies, while their handmade cards brought smiles to the faces of the residents.

“It’s a blessing to see the joy our students bring to the community, especially during this season of giving,” said Andrew Soria, principal of St. Mary’s School. “We strive to teach our students the importance of service and spreading kindness, and this visit to Brookside is a beautiful example of living out those values.”

Residents at Brookside expressed their gratitude for the students. The event also provided a meaningful connection between generations and reinforced the true spirit of Christmas — sharing love and joy.

St. Mary’s School is proud to continue its tradition of engaging with the community through faith, service, and acts of kindness.
