Delina Rosetta (Della) Gibson 7/8/32-01/23/25
It is with great sadness that after a brief illness Della Gibson passed peacefully on 01/23/25 with her family by her side.
Born July 8, 1932 in Hopland to her parents Vincenzo (Jim) and Mary Milone. Della lived her 92 years on the ranch she was born on. She witnessed the ranch go through many changes from hops, prunes, pears and finally grapes. In her later years, she loved being able to look out her window and see the activities happening on the ranch. Della was crowned Hopland Hop Festival Queen in 1949. She graduated from Hopland High School in 1950. In her younger years she was very active in all church and community events always, supporting the youth of the area.
In 1950 Della married Robert H. (Bob) Gibson. They lived in Hopland and had three children. When her children were grown she worked at The At Large store and Mervyns in Ukiah. Although she had other jobs her most cherished was that of being a homemaker. Della truly loved being home for her children. She loved cooking for her family.
Della was proud of her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her most prized possessions.
Della was preceded in death by Her husband Robert H. (Bob) Gibson, her parents Vincenzo (Jim) and Mary Milone and her brother Frank Milone. She is survived by Daughter Donna Wilsey(Brian), Frances McGehee(Rick) and son Robert J. Gibson (Tiffany). Her grandchildren Matt Wilsey, Chrissy Galletti (Tim), Amy McAvoy(Lucas), Luke McGehee, Torie McGehee, Dino Gibson(Katie), Cassandra Guillory(Andy), Jacob Gibson and Julianna Gibson. Great grandchildren, Carson and Chase Galletti, Noah and Beckett McAvoy, Emma Wilsey, Dylan and Brandy McGehee, Nolan and Luke Guillroy and Maria Gibson
Rosary will be held at Eversoles February 6 at 7:00 pm .There will be a funeral mass at St. Marys of the Angels Catholic church February 7 at 11:00 am. Graveside services at Hopland cemetery followed by a celebration of life at Brutocao’s Bliss room in Hopland.
