A pedestrian riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North State Street and Kunzler Ranch Road on Friday evening, according to emergency radio traffic. Due to the severity of the injuries, an air ambulance was dispatched and landed near the scene to transport the victim to a medical facility.

The collision occurred around 7:19 p.m., with initial reports indicating that the individual was lying in the roadway following the crash. It is unclear whether the bicyclist was struck by an SUV or a city bus, both of which were reported to be on the scene.

A ground ambulance transported the patient to nearby landing zone for the patient to be transported.

  1. To dispell any possible notion that this correction is coming from a snooty or “better than” perspective I am providing this ….jus’ so’s you knows it; Pedestrians don’t ride bicycles, Cyclists do.

  2. The lack of empathy in this comment section is disturbing. Whatever the reason for the cyclist riding at night, is irrelevant. We need to stay alert and retain our humanity. I hope the cyclist is okay.

  3. Do you know if the person was male or female if they lived or not and if you can who they where, I have reason to believe it was my friend Geraldo medina.
