Sherwood Oaks Outbreak Update: Two More Residents Test Positive for COVID-19 & Two Residents Recover

Categories:

The following is a brief press release written by the Medical Director of Sherwood Oaks Doctor John Cottle:

Two more residents tested positive last week. Testing was performed Monday and Tuesday, the results came on Friday. The two were minimally symptomatic, but were admitted to Adventist Health Mendocino Coast as a precaution. Two hospitalized residents who had recovered returned to Sherwood Oaks the same day. A total of 9 residents and 5 staff have recovered from the illness. We expect more of the seven residents currently in our hospital to return to Sherwood Oaks this week, recovered.

Since the outbreak began 24 residents have been infected, with 7 deceased. No staff have developed Covid in the past 3 weeks. All residents and working staff are being tested by the state lab in Richmond at least once a week. All Sherwood Oaks residents are isolated in their rooms for protection, and staff use full protective gear for each encounter.
