Buckman Incident Ignites in the Hills East of Hopland

As lightening has lit up the skies above Southern Mendocino, a vegetation fire is burning on the Eastern Hill of the Sanel Valley near Buckman Road & Highway 175.

Scanner reports indicate the fire is approximately 1/2 acre moving at a slow rate of spread. Resources responding include five CalFire Engines, two dozers, and two fire crews.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

UPDATE: 6:35 am– Scanner traffic indicates fire resources are having difficulty accessing the area of the Buckman Incident due to the terrain.

UPDATE: 8:00 am– The CHP Traffic Incident Information Page describes the Buckman Incident as having a slow rate of spread and sufficient units responding.
