SUV Rolls Over on Highway 101 North of Hopland Causing Traffic to Slow

A single vehicle accident involving a Red Chrysler SUV is causing traffic to back up on US Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.

Reports indicate the SUV is overturned in the northbound lane and the party is possibly out of the vehicle chasing a dog.

This is an evolving situation and the article will be updated as more information is gathered

UPDATE 12:49 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicates the vehicle is on its side and will require a tow truck to remove it from the roadway.

The CalTrans Quickmap indicates the extent of the traffic jam is growing considerably. It is advised to reroute using Old River Road when driving between Hopland and Ukiah.

UPDATE 1:19 p.m.

According to an update on the The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page, a black rottweiler named ‘Bella’ was ejected from the vehicle and ran in an easterly direction from the site of the incident.

UPDATE 1:50 p.m.

The CalTrans Quickmap indicates the traffic is clearing.
