Fort Bragg’s Water Main Fixed; Boiling Mandate Still In Place Until Mid-Christmas Day

Categories:

After a late night water main break in the Mendocino Coastal city of Fort Bragg at the intersection of East Bush
Street and North McPherson Street, crews have worked throughout the day and have successfully fixed it.

MendoFever’s Fort Bragg correspondent Judy Valadao spoke with Fort Bragg Mayor Bernie Norvall who told her water main break was fixed at 3:30 p.m.

Mayor Norvell told Valadao that roughly two square blocks around the break are still in the boiling mandate. He explained to Valadao that those standards are set by the state requiring municipalities to test water twice for potability and waiting 24 hours between tests.

With this requirement in mind, Mayor Norvell told Valadao that, “hopefully mid Xmas day the boil water notice will be lifted.”
