Forest Service Repairing M1 in Covelo Ranger District This Weekend; Expect Delays and Closures

The following is a press release issued by the U.S. Forest Service- Mendocino National Forest:

Crews will begin repair work on the Bar Creek Slide on the M1 Road on the Covelo Ranger District of the Mendocino National Forest Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.

The road damage is located about three miles north of the Eel River Work Center. Repairs will include digging up the road, coring the cracks and recompacting. Crews will also conduct some fire suppression repair to the road and ditch line while they are in this area.

There will be temporary closures and delays while crews work on these repairs. Please avoid traveling in this area.
