As per a criminal complaint filed by the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office, 56-year-old Ukiah man David Charles Ryan, a prominent local realtor who was recently arrested for multiple sex crimes, could face 25 years to life in state prison for a special allegation modifying the potential sentencing guidelines.

The Mendocino County District Attorney’s criminal complaint charges Ryan with a single felony county of “sexual penetration with a foreign object with force.”

The criminal complaint indicates a “Special Allegation” has been filed against Ryan because the previously described charge of “sexual penetration with a foreign object with force” was committed during the commission of “burglary in the first degree.” According to the criminal complaint, this special allegation could result in Ryan being subject to “One Strike” punishment of 25 years to life in state prison, and Ryan would not be eligible for parole.

A press release from the Ukiah Police Department indicates investigations have determined Ryan should face multiple felonies including penetration with a foreign object, sexual battery, residential burglary, and a misdemeanor charge of child endangerment.

The press release is very brief due to the sensitive nature of the investigation. It states Ryan was arrested on the charges described above after an “investigation conducted by the Ukiah Police Department.” The charges resulted in Ryan being “booked and lodged into the county jail on the aforementioned date, on a no bail warrant issued on this case.”

David C. Ryan is a prominent name in the Mendocino County realty scene, according to his LinkedIn profile. In his “About” section on LinkedIn, Ryan states he has been selling homes in Mendocino County since 1988 and grew to sell multi-residential and commercial properties. Ryan, as of late, had been working as a Realtor at Windermere Platinum Real Estate Services.

Todd Schapmire, a Managing Partner of Windermere Platinum Real Estate Service’ Ukiah field office, told us on Monday, August 30, 2021, “W Real Estate has been informed of the very serious charges against Mr. Ryan. We have made an immediate decision to terminate our affiliation with him.”

Ryan has a history of run-ins with law enforcement. A booking log published by the Ukiah Daily Journal on June 1, 2011, indicates Ryan, then 46-years-old, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol and subsequently booked into the county jail for driving under the influence.

Another booking log published by the Ukiah Daily Journal on April 19, 2012 states Ryan was arrested “on suspicion of grand theft” and violation of his probation.

Also, with due respect to the potential victim of the circumstances described, it must be stated that the charges contained in the booking log have not been proven in a court of law. In accordance with the legal principle of the presumption of innocence, any individual described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Ukiah Police Department asks that “anyone with information regarding this case or similar incident is urged to contact the Ukiah Police Department at 462-6262.

    • His wife Diane has a website selling honey. ‘Mendocino Gold’…with cute little pics of bees and honey…but clicking on any of her sites, it’s all about selling e.d. drugs. Sounds like she’s aiding and abbetting. His enabler. No wonder he’s using foriegn objects…

      • I’m all for accuracy. I checked out her website
        She started the Honey site
I see no site relating to her for linking to E.D products
I have no idea who she is
        But check your facts please
