28-year-old Southern California man Dylan Flanagan was visiting Clear Lake with a friend on the afternoon of Sunday, October 10, 2021. At 5:00 p.m. he ventured onto the waters of Clear Lake for a solo paddle and never returned. Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Walter White confirmed the Marine Patrol unit located what they believe to be Flanagan’s kayak on the water yesterday, but he still remains missing.
Aimee Flanagan, a relative of Dylan’s, told us he was last seen paddling away from the Clearlake Oaks Boat Launch around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Flanagan characterized Dylan as “not the kind of guy that would leave his friend without saying anything.”
Sergeant White said LCSO received the report regarding Dylan’s disappearance the evening of October 10 and searches ran throughout the night conducted by both land deputies and the Marine Patrol unit. Yesterday the searching continued and the Marine Patrol unit was able to locate a kayak they believe to be Dylan’s.
Aimee Flanagan told us Dylan is 6”1’ and approximately 170-190 lbs. As seen in the photograph provided by Aimee, Dylan has brown hair, brown eyes, and a distinctive brown mustache/beard combination. He was last seen wearing a navy Hawaiian shirt, black sunglasses, a straw hat, and tie-dye boardshorts.
If anyone knows anything about the whereabouts of Dylan Flanagan, Sergeant White asks you to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency line at (707)263-2690.
