Half a Million Pounds of Cannabis Seized Near California/Oregon Border Deemed an ‘Epic Amount’ by Law Enforcement

Categories:

The following is a press release issued by the Oregon State Police:

On November 18, 2021, the Oregon State Police Southwest Region (SWR) Drug Enforcement Section (DES) team served a search warrant in the 1300 block of Antelope Rd. White City, Oregon. The location consisted of 5 industrial-sized warehouses zoned for commercial use.  Over 100 individuals were initially detained, identified, interviewed, and released. Several of the individuals were migrant workers living on-site in subpar living conditions without running water.

During the operation, which spanned over two days, an epic amount of illegal, processed marijuana and a firearm were seized.  The DES Team’s conservative estimation on the amount of processed marijuana seized was approximately 500,000 lbs., which depending on where it would be exported to, has a conservative street value of somewhere around $500 million.  This is a very involved investigation and will be ongoing for several weeks. OSP will be releasing more information when available.

The OSP SWR DES team was assisted by the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) of Josephine County, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Medford Office, the Basin Interagency Narcotics Team (BINET) of Klamath County, the Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET) of the Medford Police Department-Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County Fire District No. 3.

  1. Actually you should have read the article closer “Michael”. It was White City, Oregon. Probably a bunch of dumpy white guys in tank tops named Mike at the helm.

  2. Funny how the CHP, decade after decade, never patrols Hwy 128, from Cloverdale to the coast Hwy 1. So many huge, unmarked trucks, oddly all being driven by hispanic males, always two in a cab, travel day and night, along this corridor. Back and forth. Funny how all the roadside emergency phones along that stretch of 128, are repeatedly smashed and disabled, then left bagged, through Yorkville, Boonville, Philo, Navarro… (no one in their right mind, ever travels this road, after 9pm) Funny how law enforcement seems surprised, at this massive find…

  3. You be tripping on some bad Bud, BUD. Gotta see about getting you somma dat White City Weed , “ aka good ole boy BUD”. Keep an eye out for those 128 outlaw longhaulers and thanks for the heads up, BUUUUD!

  4. Guess again Sherlock, glad you’re not being compensated to solve crime as you seem to be blinded by me, Baggins, draped over your monocle.

  5. This much money involved and people don’t think that law enforcement is in cahoots with the cartel??? Naive and unaware of the world we live in…not a fairy tale.
