[UPDATE 6:01 p.m.] Shelter-in-Place in Gualala After Home Invasion with Twenty Armed Subjects Attempting to Gain Entry Into Residence

Information is fluid, and the situation is changing quickly, but a significant law enforcement presence on Mendocino County’s South Coast currently is responding to a reported home invasion near the intersection of Old State Road and Seaside School Road. 

A shelter-in-place has been issued for residents within a half-mile radius of the location. 

Initial reports gathered via the police scanner indicated two residents were barricaded inside their home at the 45000 block of Seaside School Road with twenty armed individuals attempting to gain access to the residence.

As law enforcement arrives on the scene, they report seeing multiple subjects outside the residence wearing black hoodies who scattered as they arrived. A Be On the Lookout was issued for one individual that was reportedly armed wearing a black hoodie and white pants that fled the area as law enforcement moved in.

Responding agencies include California Fish and Game Officers, California Highway Patrol, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, State Parks law enforcement, and a resident Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

UPDATE 6:01 p.m.: Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported via the scanenr that the targeted residence is now cleared and secure. Law enforcement is reportedly traveling to the 37900 block of Ocean Ridge Road for a follow up investigation.

  1. Sounds like a prank or tweekers suffering paranoia. A local tweeker observed squirrels repelling from his roof to attack his apartment in Ukiah
