[UPDATES]Gunfire Reportedly Exchanged Between Two in Clearlake Neighborhood—Law Enforcement Searching for Suspect

Categories:

Law enforcement is staging near the 14000 block of Emory Avenue in Clearlake responding to reports of a shooting. Initial reports indicate two individuals exchanged gunfire and one of the subjects took off on foot.

Scanner traffic indicates law enforcement cleared a residence and is searching for a Hispanic male adult wearing a burgundy sweater and blue jeans supposedly armed with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.

A citizen reportedly provided law enforcement a video of the suspect as he came into her yard.

UPDATE 5:45 p.m.: The scanner indicates law enforcement has one detained associated with this incident. It is unclear if that individual was the previously referenced Hispanic male or the other person involved.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

  1. I wish the media would stop saying “semi-automatic pistol” to try and instill fear for guns into people’s minds. All pistols are inherently semi-automatic. You can’t even get automatic or three round burst pistols in California. The quantity of fully automatic and three round burst pistols in California is so minimal, is there even reason to differentiate at this point? It’s just a pistol, stop purposely scaring people.

It’s becoming yellow journalism at this point.

  2. A man died by gunshot on Feb 7 2020 in Ukiah VA parking lot less than 100 feet from a day care center
Within 2 hours the crime scene was sanitized except for blood stains. They were scrubbed the next day. Ukiah paper reported, Coronor Incident. No crime scene tape and a gag order from VA. If a dog was shot it would have made front page.
I still do not know the mans name. I put a flag there for the next six months but it kept disappearing.
Rumor mill said suicide US Airforce Veteran with terminal cancer. Why keep that a secret?
