After Arguing with Roommates, 29-Year-Old Trinity County Woman Walks Off and Goes Missing

The following is a press release issued by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office:

On February 7, 2022 at approximately 8:30 PM, it was reported to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office that Leah Hoffman, had gone missing in the area of the Rush Creek Estates. A welfare check had earlier been requested on Leah and Deputies checked the area, but had been unable to locate her.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that earlier in the morning, Leah had been involved in a verbal argument with individuals she had been residing with and walked off. She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, shorts and black Ugg boots.

Various reports have come in which indicated that Leah was seen in the afternoon of February 7 near State Route 299 and the Lewiston turn off (believed to be Trinity Dam Boulevard). Another at about the same time which made it appear that she was seen walking on State Route 3 near Slate Creek. Areas have been checked by Deputies, with negative results.
