Scanner traffic indicates that at approximately 6:00 p.m. a single vehicle overturned on Highway 101 just south of the intersection with Highway 1.

The accident has resulted in the emergency responders initiating one-way traffic as they work to clear the roadway.

Initial requests to dispatch for an air ambulance to the scene have been declined due to weather.

The Caltrans Quickmap shows traffic significantly slowed in the area.

An image sent to us by a reader shows the vehicle overturned in the southbound lane completely blocking it and intruding into the southbound lane as well.

UPDATE 7:22 p.m.: Scanner traffic indicates multiple resources are being released from the scene of the accident and the Incident Commander reported the roadway has reopened.
