Staff with the Mendocino County home visiting program recently identified “recalled” cans of infant formula in local communities.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers not to use certain powdered infant formula produced in Abbott Nutrition’s facility in Sturgis, Michigan. Contaminated infant formula may have contributed to one infant death and four illnesses across three states. FDA is advising consumers not to use Similac, Alimentum, or EleCare powdered infant formulas if:

  • the first two digits of the code are 22 through 37; and
  • the code on the container contains K8, SH or Z2; and
  • the expiration date is 4-1-2022 (APR 2022) or later

You can learn more about the recall on the FDA website.

  1. Polio epidemic was caused by dairy industry. Breast feeding gave infants lifelong immunity. How many modern illness is caused by industrial food? Five year olds die from fatty liver, an illness only drunks had in 1970. The sugar used as a shelf life preservative is toxic. Sugar is a 400 billion medical industry every year. Thats more death and harm than all other drugs. Sugar is a drug and it is in almost everything packaged at the local store.
