At approximately 8:00 this evening, a traffic pursuit in Lake County exceeding speeds of 150 miles per hour ended when the suspect struck a California Highway Patrol vehicle. One of the vehicle’s occupants is in custody after being detained at gunpoint and the other remains at large.
The pursuit began in the area of Clearlake when the suspect vehicle described as a black lifted truck sped south hooking up with Highway 29 crossing double yellow lines, weaving in and out of traffic.
CHP was staged at the roundabout near the intersection of State Route 29 and Hartmann Road in Hidden Valley when the collision promptly ended after the suspect vehicle struck a parked CHP SUV.
At that point, two occupants emerged from the suspect vehicle, one took off on foot and one was successfully detained at gunpoint. The second suspect fled the area and was reportedly last seen getting into another vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Traffic control is in effect on Hartmann Road in the area as the scene is cleaned up.

There is no way that truck was capable of doing 150 mph. That part of the story is impossible.
