The following is a press release from the County of Mendocino:
The Mendocino County Museum Book Group announces reading selections for spring/summer 2022! Join us as we delve into two fascinating titles:
Wednesday, May 11, 5:30 pm – A Mendocino Mystery by Mary Cesario Weaver
“A woman private eye in the idyllic village of Mendocino investigates a case involving robbery, drug trafficking, and homicide.” – Summary provided by Lost Coast Press
Wednesday, July 13, 5:30 pm – After the Grizzly: Endangered Species and the Politics of Place in California by Peter S. Alagona
“Thoroughly researched and finely crafted, After the Grizzly traces the history of endangered species and habitat in California, from the time of the Gold Rush to the present. Peter S. Alagona shows how scientists and conservationists came to view the fates of endangered species as inextricable from ecological conditions and human activities in the places where those species lived.” – Summary provided by University of California Press
A limited number of books will be available for participants to borrow from the Museum. In addition, you may request a copy from your local Mendocino County Library branch.
Book group meetings will continue to be held virtually to connect with members throughout the county.
