Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicates that a big rig is fully engulfed in flames along Highway 101 south of Laytonville near the intersection with Shamrock Lane.

The Incident Commander reports that there is no spread into the vegetation and the semi’s trailer is fully engulfed. The nature of the fire suggests there is some sort of flammable substance in the trailer.

Initial reports came out around 12:21 p.m. stating that a big rig was pulled over with black smoke and flames coming from the vehicle.

UPDATE 12:42 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported that the fire has been contained.
