‘Momento Mori’—MEDIUM Art Gallery Invites Artists to Submit Their Work Exploring the Inevitability of Death

Categories:

The following is a press release issued by the Deep Valley Arts Collective:

Death by Lillian Rubie

MEDIUM Art Gallery invites artists working in all media to submit to our juried group exhibition “Memento Mori,” which in Latin means to “remember that you must die.” We seek to explore the inevitability of death and its impact on all of us. During the pandemic, we’ve had to let go of old ways of thinking and being in the world and adopt new ways of living. Death, in all its forms, can provide an opportunity to adapt, appreciate, honor and value the lives we are currently living. Remembering that we all will die one day allows us to be present in the world and more present in our lives. Death reminds us that each moment of life is sacred.

Applications will be assessed on three criteria: creativity, originality, and the visual/emotional impact of the image.

Artist submissions have begun for our October/November exhibition to be held at MEDIUM Art Gallery in Ukiah.

The exhibition is open to all artists! To submit work please visit
