Law enforcement, medics, and emergency personnel are converging on Fort Bragg’s Dolphin Isle Marina and RV Park along the Noyo River where a 38-year-old man is reporting he suffered a gunshot wound.

Originally dispatched around 12:44 p.m., initial information indicates the patient was shot with a .22 bullet striking him in the right leg. First responders requested an air medic to respond but due to the weather conditions, it could not deploy.

The gunshot victim also told dispatch he does not know the circumstances around the shooting or where the shots came from.

UPDATE 12:58 p.m.: Law enforcement on the scene reported they saw the gunshot victim being transported to the Mendocino Coast Hospital in a white Ford pick-up.

The dispatcher told officers she had received reports that the gunshot victim is at the hospital and causing a disturbance.

UPDATE 1:06 p.m.: Mendocino Coast law enforcement is actively searching for the truck that dropped the gunshot victim off at the hospital. Despite earlier reports, the truck is described as tan without any license plates.
