Vegetation Fire Ignites in Covelo

A half-acre vegetation fire ignited this evening on Hopper Lane in Covelo prompting firefighters to respond.

Units on the scene have described the fire as 100’x100′ in size, burning in brush at a slow rate of spread. The Incident Commander canceled all incoming units meaning the fire will be quickly brought under control.

Scanner traffic regarding the incident began around 10:45 p.m. after a resident reported a fire burning near the 23000 block of Hopper Lane.
