Air Ambulance Deployed After Motorcyclist Suffers Major Injuries Due to Traffic Collision in Ukiah

A motorcycle rider has suffered major injuries after a traffic accident in Ukiah this evening.

As a result of the collision, South State Street will be closed from Luce Avenue to Talmage Road and the public has been asked to avoid the area.

Scanner traffic beginning around 9:57 p.m. indicated that a motorcycle collided with a vehicle near the intersection of Talmage Road and South State Street in front of Building Bridges prompting an emergency personnel and an air ambulance to be deployed.

The Incident Commander reported a 56-year-old man required a medevac after suffering several “long bone fractures” (which means breaking arms and/or legs) and airway management (which means medical personnel would have to make sure he is able to breath due to injuries).

Personnel at the scene are packaging the injured man for transport and will meet the air ambulance at the Ukiah Regional Airport for transport.


UPDATE 9?22 p.m.: The following is the Nixle Alert issued by the Ukiah Police Department regarding road closures:

UPD advises you to AVOID S STATE ST from TALMAGE TO LUCE AVE due to a current traffic issue. A vehicle crash near 1045 S State st has closed the roadway and will require a detour of traffic. No ETA at this time.
