[UPDATE: Good News!]Hiker Missing Southwest of Laytonville

Multiple agencies are converging on a remote area southwest of Laytonville tonight after reports emerged of a missing hiker.

Scanner traffic initially began around 7:37 a.m. The hiker had not returned from their excursion near mile marker 8.22 of Branscomb Road.

Laytonville Fire, Westport Fire, and deputies with the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office are on their way to the location to conduct a hasty search of the area.


UPDATE 2/21/2024 7:57 p.m.: Multiple agencies worked throughout today and thankfully were able to located the missing hiker and escort them to safety.
