The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a coroner’s investigation following the discovery of human remains recovered from the ocean south of the Mendocino Coast city of Fort Bragg.
Captain Cromer reported that the partially decomposed remains have made identification difficult. However, he said that preliminary assessments suggest the decedent is likely an adult female.
Yesterday, scanner traffic around 3:30 in the afternoon indicated that Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were among the first to respond, requesting assistance from the Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department for water resources.
According to Captain Quincy Cromer of the Sheriff’s Office, Fish and Wildlife personnel with a boat retrieved the woman’s remains off the shoreline south of Fort Bragg, which he described was in the vicinity of the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.
Captain Cromer said the individual does not correspond to any active missing persons reports logged with the Sheriff’s Office.
Efforts to recover the remains prompted a multi-agency response including the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department, California State Parks, and the United States Coast Guard.
And zero comments cause women are dispensaries why God why was I born in female body?
RIP??
There has been a few women found deceased in the Russian River and the Pacific Ocean. We haven’t heard anything after their discoveries. Sad, whatever the cause.
Since forever, ’70’s on up, we useda always hear that ‘dental records’ were used to identify bodies… I never understood the details of how that happened, but tho it sounds organizationally a bit difficult, i would think as a ‘fingerprint’ viable? computers would seem to greatly facilitate the process.. Anyone know anything re that? Thanks. I am sorry for the poor souls, sigh… ??
Shouldn’t be too difficult now since most people gave up dna samples via COVID testing…. ancestry.com. 23 and me? Those things are more of a tool for them than for us. Yet no one missing, so hopefully this gets situated
