Lakeport Woman Finds Inert Grenade Among Late Husband’s Belongings, Triggering Bomb Squad

Authorities responded to a residence in Lakeport on Friday, April 26th, 2024 after a woman discovered what appeared to be a grenade among her late husband’s belongings.

As per a post on their official Facebook page, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad to assess the situation. Using specialized equipment, the bomb squad confirmed that the device was inert and posed no threat.

Following the evaluation, the Napa County Bomb Squad took possession of the grenade for proper disposal.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to their counterparts in Napa County for their assistance.
