Medevac Helicopter Responding to Crash on Hwy 1 Near Leggett

The vehicle rolled nearly 100 feet down a hillside according to the photograph

REACH 6, a medevac helicopter, has been dispatched to the scene of an apparently serious crash near mile marker 100.4 on Highway 1 near the intersection with Highway 101 at Leggett. The incident was reported at approximately 1:18 p.m. today.

According to the CHP, a vehicle left the roadway.  Initial reports from a passing motorist indicated that the occupant of the vehicle was unresponsive to shouts.

The helicopter is currently overhead and preparing to land nearby.

UPDATE 2:21 p.m.: The patient has been extricated from the vehicle and brought up to the roadway. They are now waiting on a ground ambulance to transport the patient. It isn’t clear if the ambulance will transport the patient to the hospital or to a landing zone for the medevac.
