Mark Edward Anastasiou [Mugshot from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office]

On 08-20-2024 at approximately 8:34 A.M., deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to contact the victim of a possible theft in the Potter Valley area.

Deputies responded to the area and contacted the 46-year-old female victim.  Deputies learned the female was involved in a domestic argument with her boyfriend, who was identified as 55-year-old Mark Edward Anastasiou.

During the argument, Anastasiou stole the female’s loaded firearm and pointed it at her face. Anastasiou then stole numerous items belonging to the female, including the firearm and a cellphone, all while continuing to point the loaded firearm at her.

Deputies searched the area and located a vehicle matching the description of Anastasiou’s vehicle parked along the Eel River.  Deputies contacted Anastasiou while he was seated in the vehicle and observed a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe in plain view.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, which resulted in locating the stolen loaded firearm and stolen cellphone belonging to the female.

  1. OMG! I’m so afraid. The Mexican Gangs are taking over, all I can do is whip up hysteria and cower in fear.

(sorry to be sarcastic, but when the shoe fits)

  2. Obviously mr anastasiou needs to be punished for his crimes. But of course mr anastasiou was smoking Mexican methamphetamine, the driver of much criminal behavior. That meth was manufactured by a Mexican cartel and distributed by a Mexican street gang.

The only winner here is Mexican organized crime which enjoys California “sanctuary state” status that protect their entire racket. From meth and fentanyl sales to human trafficking, child exploitation, and sex slavery. Some of the biggest losers are the exploited hispanic children that are used in furtherance of international criminal activity. Raped or recruited into the drug gangs. The “lucky” kids make it into cartel management.

Drugs and illiterate, unimmunized 3rd-world criminal rejects flood northward while dollars and weapons flow to Mexico.

We need to militarize the southern border and send the Mexican traffickers to an offshore military prison like Guantanamo.

  3. Mark has been on and off drugs many times. He was old enough to know way better. Blaming his drug use on others isn’t right. He knew what he was doing. He will go back to prison where he belongs.
Not his first stay with the big boys, he seems to like it there.

  4. Todd and his friends, discouraging community discussion for every article. I no longer get excited to see lots of comments on an article. I no longer naively think there’s actual interesting human comments full of personal insight and new points of view. Now when I see a ton of comments I know it’s just Todd and his new friends. You guys should get a room, or get married or something. Some of us are actually interested in what other people in our community think about real issues, even if they’re not on the same social spectrum. But your guy’s comments aren’t entertaining in the slightest. It’s just embarrassing. We’re embarrassed for you.

    • I live here and have an opinion to share. Whether my thoughts “excite” you or not is your own problem. What a pathetic attempt you’ve made to police community discussion and personal insight. You’re just another whiny baby, too afraid to put your name behind your comments. Truly pathetic.

So go back to sniffing your farts. You won’t be missed.
