SFGATE: Habit Burger set to revamp Ukiah’s abandoned Denny’s

Categories:

I’m really excited to see the Perkins Corridor in Ukiah starting to come alive with new businesses, and Habit Burger & Grill joining the scene is a welcome addition. The former Denny’s site is about to be transformed, and it’s encouraging to see such growth in this part of town. It feels like the beginning of something fresh and promising for Ukiah.

While I’m looking forward to the new dining option, I’m also hopeful that Habit will take the opportunity to engage with the community. It’s not just about offering a meal; it’s about supporting the local spirit that makes Ukiah special. If Habit can find ways to connect with the community and participate in local events, it could really make a positive impact on the area. The buzz around town shows that people are excited for what’s next, and I’m eager to see how it all unfolds.

Read about it here in SFGATE.

  1. I’m still sad that the Denny’s closed. It was nice and I had good memories there with my family and friends. However, I’m excited to try this new burger place, which I have not heard of before.

  2. So excited to hear about the new Habit Grill! I discovered this eatery in Santa Rosa, and it’s the best burger chain I’ve ever experienced. I mean, they even have an ahi tuna burger, and the mushroom burger is phenomenal as well. Sure beats Denny’s which I haven’t eaten at since they made me sick several years ago.

  3. This is a great addition to Ukiah. 100% fantastic. Now if there was a plan to improve the Perkins, 101, and turn out access from this shopping center since their may be more traffic coming into this place via drive-thru and such.

    • Exactly! The butt funnel between Chevron and the old Dennys is dangerous. I mean the traffic turning into the parking area from Perkins Street don’t want to wait for you to come thru heading north. They try to beat you to the skinny entrance or even try to squeeze thru next to you. There will definitely be a lot of traffic when this Habit Burger opens.

  4. I heard that Ed Rooney fronted all the money for this.
He is also Eysters silent partner and “go to man”
    Strange coincidence

  5. Word of advice? Treat the homeless like human beings… they have been around that area and then you cry for a very long time and they honestly literally could make you or break you. If you’re respectful they will leave your property alone if you’re not they’ll be there all the time. You can call the police. They won’t do anything. You can make yourself Friend or Foe. Choose wisely! Some of them were up their entire lives here. You just coming. Glad you’re coming. But if you have food to give away at the end of the night give it to them. There’s nothing more disgusting than a corporation that will smash and grind food and put it in a locked box bin before they will give it to people. That’s disgusting. I worked at corporate America before, it’s ugly. Don’t be that! Just saying…

    • I can’t speak for Habit Burger, but Costco donates their left over bakery and rotisserie chickens to local charities which give away the food to the needy and homeless.
