Two people were found dead in their Northern California home after neighbors reported they hadn’t been seen in several days, prompting a welfare check, according to a Saturday news release from the Cloverdale Police Department.
Officers arrived at a residence near the intersection of Riesling and Syrah Court in Cloverdale on April 12 and discovered the bodies of a man and a woman. While the investigation remains ongoing, preliminary evidence suggests a possible murder-suicide.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies rest with the families and friends affected by this heartbreaking situation,” said Cloverdale Police Chief Chris Parker in the release. “We urge anyone with information to step forward to help us fully comprehend the circumstances.”
Detectives are actively examining evidence and pursuing all leads to determine what led to the deaths. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective K. Vanoni at (707) 894-2150 or by email at kvanoni@ci.cloverdale.ca.us.
