According to Fort Bragg Fire Department Chief Steve Orsi, a structure fire broke out on the 400 Block of South Harrison at approximately 10:00 am.

Chief Orsi said when fire personnel got on scene, “the occupant had the fire under control with a garden hose.” At that point, Orsi explained “we finished extinguishing the fire” and “cleared the house of smoke.”

Regarding the extent of the fire, Chief Orsi said the fire had been contained to an attached laundry room with some “smoke damage around the affected room.”

Chief Orsi said “the fire appeared accidental, most likely starting in a plastic waste basket in the room.”
