[UPDATE: Extinguished] Explosions Heard as Multiple Storage Units Burn in Fort Bragg

As of 3:55 p.m. scanner traffic has indicated that firefighters are responding to a “multiple structure commercial fire” on the 18600 block of Highway 1 in Fort Bragg.

Multiple reporting parties indicated the fire located in a storage unit, possibly spreading to others, and nearby vehicles. Reportedly explosions have been heard at the scene.

UPDATE 4:23 p.m.: Both Fort Bragg Fire Department and Westport Fire are on scene of this incident. The Incident Commander told other responding agencies to use the south entrance of Coast Storage to access the blaze.

UPDATE 4:46 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the fire has been extinguished and will take approximately an hour and a half to mop up.
