Scanner traffic beginning at approximately 4:10 p.m. indicated local fire agencies had been dispatched to the intersection of Hopper Lane and Whipple Court regarding a vegetation fire burning near a house.
The Incident Commander described the fire as approximately 1/4 acre in size and burning on both sides of the Road. The Incident Commander said the forward progress had been stopped and another fire has flared up in the area that crews were working to tamp down.
The original reporting party indicated the fire was within roadside blackberry bushes.
UPDATE 4:29 p.m.: A unified command is being established to address the two fires that have developed close to the same area. The Hopper Incident and the Charlie Incident are both near the intersection of Hopper Lane and Whipple Court.
The Charlie Incident is described as being near 78300 Mina Road where the Incident Commander said grass is on fire as well as a large oak tree.
UPDATE 4:34 p.m.: Reports from dispatch indicated both fires are officially out. Crews will remain on scene to mop up the scene.
