Vehicle Burning After Colliding with Tree in Redwood Valley with One Occupant Reportedly Trapped

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicate a solo vehicle collided with a tree on Redwood Valley’s West Road at 11:05 p.m. leaving one party trapped as the vehicle lit on fire and began to spread to nearby vegetation.

The Incident Commander reported at 11:22 p.m. that the fire has been contained to the vehicle, one party is out, and it is unknown how many parties are still in the vehicle.

A responding officer reported the intersection of West Road and School Way is going to be closed and there is a “possible fatality” as a result of this incident.

An air ambulance is responding to the incident and meeting first responders at Ukiah Valley Medical Center.

PG&E is being contacted due to a power outage that has resulted from the incident.

UPDATE 11:34 p.m.: The Incident Commander has reported that the vehicle fire has been officially contained.

UPDATE 11:52 p.m.: The PG&E Outage Map indicates that the power outage in Redwood Valley is affected 592 customers and is estimated to be restored by 5:45 a.m.
