Scanner traffic beginning around 1:35 p.m. indicates a vegetation fire is burning near the Round Valley Elementary School in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Henderson Lane.
Upon arrival at the scene, a firefighter indicated the fire is currently a half-acre burning in the grass with the potential to grow to one to two acres. The firefighter did indicate multiple structures are threatened.
UPDATE 1:51 p.m.: The fire is now reportedly two acres in size and structures are still actively threatened. More units have been requested to respond from Laytonville Fire.
UPDATE 2:01 p.m.: The Incident Commander is reporting the fire’s forward progress has been stopped. Resources will be on the scene for the next two hours mopping up the fire.
