Fatal Traffic Collision in Fort Bragg

A motorcyclist has tragically been killed this morning after colliding with a vehicle in Fort Bragg. The southbound lane of State Route 1 is impeded as first responders work to clear the roadway.

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a vehicle collided with a motorcycle around 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of Cypress Street and State Route 1.

Moments after the collision, CPR was reportedly being conducted on the motorcyclist, and SR-1 was closed due to the roadway being impeded by the incident.

Fort Bragg Police Chief confirmed that the motorcyclist passed away as a result of the collision.

As of 11:07 a.m., the Caltrans Quickmap indicates traffic is moving slowly in the area.
