Just before 3 p.m., firefighters learned of a new fire started in the 29300 Block of Eel River Ranch Rd. in Covelo. This is the 6th fire that has started near Covelo today.
This fire, the Pigeon, is burning south of Covelo.
The air attack warned that one structure was threatened but did say that the fire was moving at a slow rate of spread. However, by 3:30 p.m., the structure is reported to be burning.
