The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has confirmed investigators are working on a case of an alleged sexual assault that reportedly occurred the evening of Tuesday, December 19, 2023, near Laytonville, California.
Officer Jonathan Clevenger, the Public Information Officer of the Garberville Office, told us in a statement that “The victim provided details to law enforcement and investigators do not have reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.”
He confirmed that CHP officers responded “to a report of a pedestrian down on Highway 101, south of Laytonville.”
When the officer contacted the woman, she told them “she was the victim of a sexual assault.” Emergency personnel transported her to Willits’s Howard Hospital for medical attention.
Scanner traffic from that night indicated the woman had reportedly lept out of her attacker’s moving vehicle to escape landing in a roadside ditch near the intersection of Highway 101 and Davidson Lane.
The suspect was reportedly driving a white, four-door SUV which subsequently fled the area last seen driving south on Highway 101.
Hmm, So do they know who this person is? Thats really suspicious and not right at all that she felt that much fear to jump out of a moving vehicle… I personally feel someone that would drive someone to do that is a threat to our community.
