As of 11:17 a.m., authorities are requesting the Fort Bragg public shelter-in-place as they work to apprehend a shooting suspect.
Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Greg Van Patten told us the shelter-in-place is the result of an active law enforcement situation near mile marker 4 along State Route 20 east of Fort Bragg. Officers are searching for a man suspected of discharging a firearm multiple times last night and this morning.
The Nixle Alert describes the suspect as a “white male adult with neck tattoos last seen wearing a blue jacket and dark jeans.”
UPDATE 12:48 p.m.: As per an update released via Nixle, the Shelter in Place has been lifted, law enforcement is “clear of the area”, but the wanted subject is still at-large.
The Nixle update contained new information about the at-large suspect sought for his role in a series of shootings last night and this morning.
He could be associated with a dirt bike and he was last seen in the area of Shangri La Drive in Fort Bragg.
