The following is a press release from the Fort Bragg Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On July 7, 2024 at approximately 12:30 AM, Fort Bragg police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Redwood Ave on the report of an interrupted vehicle tampering.
When officers arrived, they learned the victims heard noises from outside and saw a man and a woman under their full-size van, cutting off the catalytic converter. The suspects fled when the victims yelled at them. The victims provided a basic description of the vehicle the suspects ran to and got a couple of letters from the license plate.
Using information from Flock camera data, officers identified the suspect vehicle and license plate, and gave the information out for other officers. At approximately 2:48 AM, the vehicle was spotted eastbound on Pine Street at a high rate of speed. Officers were trying to catch up to it, when it stopped in the 600 block of N. Harold and the male driver fled on foot. The female passenger, Katelyn Baguley, 18, of Saratoga Springs, Utah, was unable to open her door to flee and was subsequently arrested.
Officers determined the vehicle was stolen out of Lake County and had false license plates attached to it. Officers found burglary tools, a reciprocating saw, and narcotics in the vehicle. No other catalytic converters were found, indicating to them the suspects had not committed any other thefts in Fort Bragg yet. Data from the Flock cameras in Fort Bragg show the vehicle entered the city about 10:15AM on 7/6/2024.
Baguley was booked into the Mendocino County Jail on the felony charges of 594(b)(1) PC – Vandalism; 487(a) PC – Grand Theft; and 496(a) PC – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. She was also booked on misdemeanor charges of 10852 VC – Vehicle Tampering; 466 PC – Possession of Burglary Tools; 11377(a) HS – Possession of Narcotics; and 11364(a) HS – Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.
Officers are currently attempting to identify the male suspect.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact Officer Arellano of the Fort Bragg Police Department at (707)961-2800 extension 228.

That’s all the FBPD Cheif likes to do is bargg on what he has done which is nothing but BS. I have talked to him what a joke everything is me me me me and I’m smarter than anyone here in FB. When you have to tell people at the salmon barbecue to come to city hall and speak on how good of a job I’m doing hahah dumb ass. All his experience and knowledge of every position he has done his credentials should be enough not go around telling people to come speak up. Go back to your home town
I’ve seen these tweekers around quite a bit. The state of CA is like a parent that keeps housing, feeding and giving money to their child that is on drugs. We are the great state of enabling the druggies, bums and immigrants. Making it more and more easy for these types to thrive and more and more difficult for the working man and woman to survive. Mendo is no longer safe for us or our children.
The FBPD Cheif is at the mayor Bernie’s shop every morning kissing his ass on what great job I’m doing here in your fucked up town Mayor. He should be at the FBPD station working on getting theses drugs off the streets but no he is to busy suckin down coffee what a dumb ass. There you go people of FB what a great leader hahah. This dumb ass should and needs to move back to his hometown
I’m in no way trying to diminish the terrible crime and drug situation and dire straights that Fort Bragg in currently suffering from.
But as a little off topic and interesting side note back in 1968 or 1969 there was a front cover story in Life Magazine about the Heroin problem in F.B.
If my memory serves it was titled Fort Bragg the Heroin capital of the nation and showed a picture of a junkie on the train tracks which was probably some unfortunate Viet Nam vet that came home addicted.
The old and long dead old-timers from that time era must of been horrified but in reality that was benign compared to what is going on in these troubled times.
