Fire Burning Northwest of Potter Valley

Pine Fire from Alert California Camera.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. today, the #PineFire broke out north of the Potter Valley and Redwood Valley area, near Tomki Road and Jenkins Road in Mendocino County. Multiple air and ground resources were dispatched to combat the flames. The fire is estimated to be about 5 to 6 acres and moving at a slow to moderate rate of spread, according to the air attack crew.

Firefighting aircraft over the Pine Fire. [Image from FlightRadar]Tanker 90 and Tanker 91, as well as a helicopter are dropping water and fire retardant over the fire, with an overhead flight coordinating the air attack. Ground crews have also begun arriving at the scene.

As of now, details on the size of the fire or any containment efforts are not yet available. We will continue to report on this incident as more information becomes available.
