“Wow, it’s that time of year already? Yep, the annual piano extravaganza is just round the bend and the seats are a sellin fast!”

On Saturday, January 25th and Sunday the 26th, the 32nd annual Professional Pianist Concert will hit the stage with two concerts featuring eleven different pianists at the Mendocino College Center Theatre in Ukiah. Performers letting the keys fly this year are Spencer Brewer, Elena Casanova, Carolina Calvache, Wendy DeWitt, Barney McClure, Tom Ganoung, Elizabeth MacDougall, Ed Reinhart, Ben Rueb, John Simon, and Janice Hawthorne Timm. The musical styles range from classical to jazz, boogie-woogie to Cuban, blues to ragtime…..each performance being completely different!

The musicians are the finest pianists in the area across a myriad of styles. The humor and repartee runs high for each performance as all the pianists are on stage throughout the concert in a living room setting trading stories and melodies on two concert grand pianos. The event is an annual sellout because of the diversity and quality of the music across a multitude of styles. Each concert is always full of surprises as no one knows who is going next or what the other pianists are going to play.

Saturday, January 25th at 7:00pm will feature Spencer Brewer, Carolina Calvache, Barney McClure,  Ed Reinhart, Ben Rueb, and Janice Timm.
