Threat of Thunderstorms Monday in Northeast Mendocino County

Categories:

The following is a statement issued by the National Weather Service

There will be a threat of isolated thunderstorms for some of the interior mountains late in the day Sunday, from the Yolla Bolly Wilderness to the Trinity Alps vicinity.

A greater threat will exist Monday afternoon, for still isolated thunderstorms, extending across northern Trinity, northeast Humboldt, and eastern Del Norte County.

Take precautions in these areas if you have outdoor activities planned, and know that lightning can strike several miles away from thunderstorms, with little or no warning. Seek shelter indoors or in a low-lying area if a thunderstorm approaches.
