The following is a press release issued by the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office:
Defendant Dakota Lee Miles, age 26, of Ukiah (formerly of Tennessee), was sentenced to 16 months in state prison on Wednesday morning in the Mendocino County Superior Court.
The defendant was convicted by plea on October 7th of possession of images depicting sexual conduct by a female under the age of 18 years, a felony.
Upon his release on parole from state prison, the defendant will be required to continue to register as a convicted sex offender with local law enforcement in the jurisdiction where he is allowed to reside.
This is defendant Miles second trip to a California state prison. He was committed to state prison in May 2017 for unlawful sexual battery and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, both as felonies.
The law enforcement agency that investigated the latest crime was the Ukiah Police Department.
The attorney who handled the prosecution of defendant Miles was Assistant DA Dale P. Trigg.
Mendocino County Superior Court Judge Carly Dolan was the sentencing judge.
