Air Ambulance Activated After Man Shot in the Chest Arrives at Covelo Cal Fire Station

Scanner traffic indicates that around 8:15 p.m. a male gunshot victim was dropped off at Covelo’s Cal Fire Station arriving in a truck. An air ambulance is on order and time is of the essence due to the fact the victim reportedly was shot in the chest.

According to the scanner, the victim is a 27-year-old male that was dropped off at the Covelo Fire Station by the shooter.

Law enforcement is searching for a blue pickup occupied by two males.

As of 9:15 p.m. the helicopter has the victim aboard and is headed to an out-of-the-area hospital.

The CalStar helicopter pilot reported an estimated time of arrival of 30 minutes.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the scene.

All gunshot wounds are reported to law enforcement. We will follow up with Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office tomorrow to determine the nature of the gunshot.
