[UPDATE: Located] Multiple Hikers Reported Missing on Tomki Road

Information is scant at this point, but scanner traffic from approximately 9:12 a.m. indicated a tour organizer reported to Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office emergency dispatch that a group of hikers in the Tomki Road area of Redwood Valley was missing. 

A responding deputy is reporting the organizer of the hiking group is attempting to contact the lost hikers. He also told dispatch an unmanned aerial vehicle will be utilized to try and track down the missing hikers and a siren will be initiated to get the hikers’ attention.

We have requested information from the MCSO as to the circumstances surrounding the missing hikers and the search and are awaiting their response. 

UPDATE 12:57 p.m.: Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Greg Van Patten told us the hikers self-rescued while deputies were on scene. The hikers included two men and one woman and were reportedly out all night.
