The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On May 29, 2022, at approximately 0050 hours, Segura was driving his 2017 Honda, northbound on Westlake Rd. from the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff. As Segura was driving, he made an unsafe turn and allowed his vehicle to travel from the main traveled portion of the roadway. As a result, the Honda traveled down a grass embankment and collided with the driveway and wire fence at the bottom. Segura’s front right passenger succumbed to her injuries from the collision. After a DUI investigation, Segura was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision, then transported to the hospital for treatment.
