Two vehicles collided head-on this evening north of Laytonville resulting in one vehicle veering into a creek adjacent to Highway 101 and the other hitting a house near the roadside.

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicate initial reports came in around 9:48 p.m.

The reporting party told dispatch a female occupant of a Hyundai Santa Fe appeared injured after the vehicle struck the porch of a roadside home that was reportedly unoccupied at the time of the collision.

As first responders are nearing the scene, more information was provided that indicated the other vehicle involved in the collision came to rest in a creek along the highway.

The Incident Commander described one vehicle’s occupants as “walking wounded”. The vehicle that hit the house has an occupant with a minor injury.
